University of Denver’s Frederick S. Pardee Center
Improving Human Well-Being
Challenge
Eighty2degrees was asked to design the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies Frederick S. Pardee Center for International Futures annual review for the fourth year. The report showcases the Pardee Center’s research projects on the interaction of human, social, and physical systems to improve sustainable human development around the world. This year's review highlighted the Pardee Center's work to enhance human well-being by fostering dialogue between three distinct communities: scientific, policy-making, and modeling/data.
Approach
Building on the University of Denver's branding as the framework, the review was organized into sections that showcased the students, the research, and the breadth of Pardee's presence around the globe. After the success of last year's illustrative cover, we again partnered with illustrator Chris Gash to create a unique, conceptual cover illustration. The illustration depicted how iterative conversation rooted in research leads to generating new and different ways of thinking. In the interior of the review, we humanized the research with numerous photos of Pardee students, faculty, scholars, and events. We layered circles and colors pulled from the cover illustration to illustrate the interactive and complex character of the Center's work.
