Saving Lives with AED Education

Challenge

Eighty2degrees partnered with Gray Communications and ZOLL—a company that develops medical devices that advance emergency care—to design an awareness campaign website focused on consumer education about AEDs (Automatic External Defibrillators). The site gives consumers the information and tools to advocate for more access to AEDs in their community. Adding AEDs to schools, parks, and other public venues can make the difference in surviving sudden cardiac arrest.

Approach

The site showcases heroes already using AEDs in their communities and highlights people like NFL player Damar Hamlin, whose life was saved by an AED on the playing field. We combined the existing ZOLL brand with new design elements and photo collages to highlight these heroes and survivors and to inject energy and authenticity into the site.

In addition to the awareness website, we designed an activation kit and social media campaign. The kit gives consumers tools to download to advocate for more access to AEDs in their community. The social media campaign introduces viewers to AEDs, their life-saving ability, their ease of use, and eye-opening statistics. The campaign was designed to continue the vibrant visual brand language established with the website.
