Enriching a Museum’s Story
Challenge
We collaborated with Lightning Fruit, our web development partner, on a site redesign for the Jewish Museum of Maryland (JMM). Located in Baltimore, the museum aims to connect people to Jewish experiences and serve as a cultural hub for Jewish Maryland. The museum wanted an eye-catching, user-friendly, and well-organized site to showcase its collection, resources, exhibitions, and ongoing projects.
Approach
To coincide with the museum's reopening following its front-of-house renovation, we used JMM's new branding to create a module-based site with an easily navigable user interface. We wanted the site's design to inspire visitors to explore history, take action, and imagine a better future. We incorporated patterns from items in JMM’s collections and the arch shapes used in the museum's architecture and interior design. The limited color palette and bold typography helped create a warm, impactful digital representation of the museum, its values, and its mission.
