About Us
Designing a better world.
Since 2010, we have provided design, branding, and communications expertise to clients who want to create positive change in unique and bold ways. We’re a strategic partner helping to solve our clients’ nonprofit communication challenges to create lasting impact.
OUR VALUES
A multicultural, multifaceted backstory.
Ambica Prakash founded Eighty2degrees on the belief that design is essential to solving problems and creating change. She is a lifetime advocate of social responsibility and active citizenry, which is evident throughout Eighty2degrees’ clients, work, and philosophy.
An immigrant from India, Ambica loved art from an early age. After studying, she started her career in advertising. Moving on to study visual communication in France, and continuing her journey to the US, Ambica earned an MFA in Graphic Design from Indiana University, Bloomington. Before starting Eighty2degrees, she taught graphic design at the University of Wisconsin–Stout and American University.
Combining those experiences and cultures, plus her passions for art, design, and social justice, Ambica created a design studio that focuses solely and strategically on leveraging design for good.
Our Design Work
The design work we produce is essential for raising awareness around critical issues. We partner with clients that enable us to create work that has an impact on the world. Our projects fall into at least one of the eight mission-driven “areas” we strive to support.
