ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for a driven, intentional, thoughtful, articulate, fearless, Business Development Manager to enhance our growth trajectory. An ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about helping us make our social impact business more… impactful! Finding values-aligned clients and fostering relationships (ie: with our clients, within our team, and with new leads) invigorates you. The ability to craft winning proposals and win over new clients is in your blood. You’re a people person, good writer, persistent, caring, organized, and professional. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to apply their knowledge, skills and experience to bolstering the business development function and contributing to the growth of the studio. This is a new position at Eighty2degrees requiring someone who is able to serve as a subject matter expert in their field of work and has a demonstrated ability to work both strategically and tactically. ABOUT THE POSITION
The Business Development Manager role is a full-time exempt position. Typical job duties may include but are not limited to researching, finding, and responding to opportunities in the branding and design space, curating authentic relationships, and writing succinct and effective proposals in a collaborative team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create a sustainable business development strategy to find or attract new clients based on our company values, goals, and long-term vision.
- Help refine our budgeting model based on the strategic value we add to every project we undertake with our client partners. Enhance, update, and maintain robust, efficient, and high-success proposal-writing and pipeline-monitoring processes. Write effective, winning proposals, pitches, and presentations to assist the Principals.
- Embody our company’s mission, vision, and values as a recognized team leader and brand ambassador. Adopt our ‘social impact by design’ tagline by walking the talk, embracing and highlighting our branding and design studio’s lofty aspirations, and building a solid foundation upon which to continue our growth.
- Contribute positively to the team and strive for excellence. Demonstrate grace under pressure. Communicate in an effective, timely, respectful, and compassionate manner at all times in order to streamline operations and build trust.
- Find new work and new opportunities through comprehensive, caring, and compassionate connections to build a steady and high-value stream of impactful work for socially progressive clients.
- Secure additional client revenue of at least $1M annually within your first two years.
- Collaborate on our marketing strategy to help identify and manage marketing channels, and ensure that our website, social media, and marketing materials are all working together to support our outreach strategy.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in business, business management, marketing, or other relevant university degree. A non-traditional professional path that showcases proven success is also welcome.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, marketing, and sales with a creative studio or agency.
- Past experiences must demonstrate innovative thinking, planning, and execution of new ideas and strategies to grow the sales of a small business.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle many competing demands, as well as an ability to think independently, use good judgment when some factors are unknown, and to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Interpersonal skills, including both articulate verbal and written communication skills, are vital. The ability to think of creative solutions and unorthodox ways of doing something will also be helpful.
- Knowledge of and ability to help obtain WOSB and B-Corp certifications is a definite plus.
DETAILS
The salary for position is commensurate with experience and has a starting range of $80K – $95K annually. In addition, you may be eligible for the following company benefits:
