Challenge
NAEA is the leading professional membership organization for visual arts, design, and media arts educators. Members come from all 50 states, Washington, DC, US territories, US military bases worldwide, most Canadian provinces, and more than 25 foreign countries. Eighty2degrees was tasked with creating a new website that is easy to manage and update, featuring an improved user experience that promotes stronger member engagement and easy access to the organization’s numerous resources and programs. The request also included updating NAEA’s visual language to infuse energy and vitality into the organization.
Approach
Our digital strategy involved a comprehensive landscape analysis, complete site restructuring, and rewritten content to make it more engaging and easier for viewers to understand. To simplify site management and updates, a modular design system was implemented, allowing flexibility across various content types. The site was also fully reorganized to improve navigation and reduce page content density. We redesigned NAEA’s member portal to align with the public site and enhanced its user-friendliness. An interactive map of NAEA’s network of state and provincial associations was added. The redesigned site features new visual language elements, creating a fun, creative, and professional look and tone that the previous site lacked.
