Elevating Voices

Challenge

Feeding America is the largest charity working to end hunger in the United States. Eighty2degrees partnered with the organization to design its Elevating Voices: Insights Report and executive summary. The yearly publication offers a nationally representative snapshot of the experiences, concerns, and policy views of people facing hunger. This year’s report focused on listening to neighbors living with food insecurity—the true experts—to help identify the best pathways forward, including embracing community-based solutions, collaborating across sectors, and sharing experiences.

Approach

Drawing from Feeding America’s existing brand toolkit, we created an engaging report for the organization to release on Hunger Action Day. The report uplifted marginalized voices with first-hand accounts of living with food insecurity. It allowed the qualitative elements to shine through human-centric photography and powerful quotes while dynamic infographic pages illustrated the research, data, and statistics behind the neighbors’ stories. Once the design was completed in English, we produced complementary versions of both pieces in Spanish as well.
