Bainum Family Foundation
Generating Positive Outcomes
Challenge
Bainum Family Foundation is committed to cultivating partnerships that generate positive outcomes for children. It partners with organizations across Washington, DC, that are working towards the well-being of children and families. We were asked to create an overview brochure and case study for the foundation's food security initiative. Additionally, we were asked to work with three of BFF's community partners to create custom infographics that would aid each organization in achieving its goals.
Approach
In the overview and case study, we built off the existing Bainum branding—using the color palette, typography, circle motifs, and photography. We dissected the copy for each piece, creating different content types to make the layout digestible for swimmers and skimmers. We introduced icons and data visualizations where we could help illustrate key information. For BFF’s community partners, we had conversations with each organization to get to the essence of the story each wanted to tell. With little branding to reference, we developed unique illustration styles for each organization and paired them with complementary typography and color palettes based on previous materials and logo colors. Each infographic will help staff members describe their organization's mission and outcomes to prospective partners, donors, and community members.
