Challenge

The National Skills Coalition (NSC) fights for a national commitment to inclusive, high-quality skills training so that more people have access to a better life, and more local businesses see sustained growth. To celebrate 20 years of championing workers, they engaged us to design a new logo that reflected their expanding mission and a brand system for all their print and digital communications collateral.

 

Approach

In the refreshed logo, the round forms imply connection and continuity. We used colors that symbolize stability and strength and evoke optimism and empathy. The multi-color logo mark emphasizes each of the rings and recognizes them not only as individuals, but also as a diverse network of people and industries. The rings are also a subtle representation of the acronym, NSC. This modular shape lends itself to a new visual language that can be used in a variety of ways in both print and digital collateral. We applied the refreshed visual identity to templates for presentations, social media graphics, business stationery, and reports, including a federal policy agenda that provides actions Congress can take to support America's workers.
